ATTICS International Formal Assessment Plan

These policies are developed exclusively for ATTICS International. Any copying, sharing, or reuse without written consent is not permitted.

Purpose

This Assessment Plan defines the structured approach used by ATTICS International to plan, conduct, monitor, and control assessment activities.

It ensures that all assessments are fair, valid, reliable, transparent, and consistent, while maintaining compliance with international quality and conformity assessment requirements.

Organizational Quality Commitment

ATTICS International operates under internationally recognized management and conformity assessment systems:

  • ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management Systems
  • ISO/IEC 17024:2012 – Certification of Persons
  • ISO 21001:2025 – Educational Organizations Management Systems
  • And holds Organizational Membership of ASTM International (Membership No. 2515539).

Accordingly, all assessment planning and delivery must reflect global best practices in quality, competence, impartiality, and educational governance.

Scope

This Assessment Plan applies to:

  • Training and qualification programs
  • Certification of persons schemes
  • Competency-based and workplace assessments
  • Written, practical, oral, and online examinations

It applies to all learners, assessors, Internal Quality Assurers (IQA), and program coordinators.

Assessment Objectives

The objectives of assessment planning are to:

  • Measure learner competence against defined learning outcomes
  • Ensure consistent application of assessment criteria
  • Provide fair and equal opportunity to all learners
  • Maintain integrity and credibility of certification decisions
  • Meet accreditation and regulatory expectations

Assessment Structure

Each qualification or program shall have a defined assessment structure including:

  • Learning outcomes and performance criteria
  • Assessment methods and tools
  • Marking and grading criteria
  • Evidence requirements
  • Pass / fail thresholds
  • Certification requirements

Assessment Methods

Assessment methods may include:

  • Written examinations
  • Practical demonstrations
  • Workplace observations
  • Oral questioning
  • Projects or assignments
  • Portfolio of evidence review

Methods are selected to ensure validity and reliability of competence measurement.

Assessment Planning Process

Step 1 – Assessment Design

  • Define learning outcomes and assessment criteria
  • Develop approved assessment tools and materials
  • Set assessment schedules

Step 2 – Learner Preparation

  • Inform learners of assessment requirements and rules
  • Confirm learner eligibility and registration

Step 3 – Resource Allocation

  • Assign qualified assessors
  • Arrange facilities, equipment, and materials
  • Ensure HSE compliance

Step 4 – Assessment Scheduling

  • Publish assessment dates and locations
  • Confirm attendance and logistics

Conduct of Assessment

Assessors shall:

  • Follow approved assessment plans and tools
  • Verify learner identity
  • Apply criteria consistently
  • Ensure impartiality and fairness
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Record assessment decisions accurately

Evidence Requirements

Evidence collected must be:

  • Valid
  • Authentic
  • Sufficient
  • Current
  • Traceable to learning outcomes

All evidence shall be recorded and retained as per QMS requirements.

Reasonable Adjustment & Special Consideration

Approved reasonable adjustments and special consideration measures shall be implemented as per ATTICS International’s Reasonable Adjustment & Special Consideration Policy, without compromising assessment integrity.

Assessment Quality Assurance

Assessment quality is ensured through:

  • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) monitoring
  • Standardization meetings for assessors
  • Sampling of assessment decisions
  • Continuous improvement actions

Complaints & Appeals

Learners may appeal assessment decisions or submit complaints. All appeals are handled impartially under the Complaints & Appeals Policy.

Records & Documentation

The following records shall be maintained:

  • Assessment plans and schedules
  • Learner assessment records
  • Evidence and marking sheets
  • IQA reports
  • Appeal records

Records are controlled under QMS document control procedures.

Health, Safety & Environment

All assessments, particularly practical or site-based activities, shall comply with ATTICS International HSE requirements to ensure safe environments for learners and staff.

Review & Continuous Improvement

Assessment plans are reviewed:

  • At the end of each program cycle
  • During management review meetings
  • When accreditation or regulatory requirements change

Feedback from learners, assessors, and IQA is used for continual improvement.

Authorization

This Formal Assessment Plan is approved by Executive Management of ATTICS International and is binding for all assessment activities.
