ATTICS International Learner Attendance Policy

These policies are developed exclusively for ATTICS International. Any copying, sharing, or reuse without written consent is not permitted.

Policy Statement

ATTICS International is committed to ensuring effective learning outcomes through regular, punctual, and active learner participation in all training, assessment, and certification activities.

ATTICS International is an ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems), ISO/IEC 17024:2012 (Conformity Assessment), and ISO 21001:2025 (Educational Organizations Management Systems)Certified and Compliant Organization, and an Organizational Member of ASTM International (Membership No. 2515539).

In line with these standards, ATTICS International requires learners to maintain satisfactory attendance to ensure competence development, fair assessment, and the integrity of learning and certification processes.

Purpose

This policy establishes a clear framework to:

  • Define attendance expectations for learners
  • Promote learner engagement and discipline
  • Ensure fair access to learning and assessment opportunities
  • Support achievement of learning outcomes
  • Maintain compliance with international education and conformity assessment standards

Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All learners enrolled in ATTICS International training programs
  • Certification and qualification candidates
  • Classroom-based, online, blended, and workplace learning formats
  • Mandatory training, assessments, workshops, and examinations

Attendance Requirements

Learners are expected to:

  • Attend all scheduled training sessions and assessments
  • Be punctual and prepared for each session
  • Participate actively in learning activities

Unless otherwise stated in program requirements, learners must maintain a minimum attendance of 80% to be eligible for assessment and certification.

Recordingof Attendance

ATTICS International ensures that:

  • Attendance is recorded for all training sessions
  • Records are maintained accurately and securely
  • Attendance data is monitored as part of quality assurance

Attendance may be recorded through physical registers, digital platforms, or learning management systems.

Absence and Late Arrival

Planned Absence

Learners must notify ATTICS International in advance where possible and provide valid reasons.

Unplanned Absence

Unplanned absences must be reported as soon as possible. Supporting evidence may be requested.

Late Arrival

Repeated late arrival may be treated as partial absence and addressed accordingly.

Acceptable Reasons for Absence

Acceptable reasons may include:

  • Medical illness or injury
  • Family emergencies or bereavement
  • Religious or legal obligations
  • Other exceptional circumstances supported by evidence

Learners with Special Needs

Attendance requirements may be adjusted in accordance with ATTICS International’s Learner Adjustments Policyand Reasonable Adjustment & Special Consideration Policy, without compromising learning outcomes or assessment integrity.

Impact of UnsatisfactoryAttendance

Where attendance requirements are not met:

  • Learners may be restricted from undertaking assessments
  • Learners may be required to attend additional sessions
  • Certification or course completion may be delayed
  • Re-enrollment or rescheduling fees may apply

Online and Blended Learning Attendance

For online or blended learning:

  • Attendance may include login records, participation logs, and activity completion
  • Learners must engage in required virtual sessions and learning activities
  • Non-participation may be treated as absence

Monitoring and Quality Assurance

Attendance compliance is monitored through:

  • Trainer and coordinator oversight
  • Periodic attendance review
  • Internal quality assurance processes

Attendance trends are reviewed to support learner success and continual improvement.

Appeals and Complaints

Learners may raise concerns or appeal attendance-related decisions through ATTICS International’s Complaints & Appeals Procedure.

Records and Confidentiality

Attendance records are:

  • Treated as confidential
  • Stored securely
  • Retained in accordance with QMS document control and data protection procedures

Policy Review

This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure continued suitability, effectiveness, and alignment with international educational management standards.

This Learner Attendance Policy is approved by Executive Management of ATTICS International and is mandatory for all learners.
