ATTICS International Public Liability, Employers’ Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance Policy

These policies are developed exclusively for ATTICS International. Any copying, sharing, or reuse without written consent is not permitted.

Purpose

ATTICS International is committed to operating responsibly and protecting the interests of its employees, clients, learners, partners, and stakeholders.
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that appropriate insurance coverage is maintained to safeguard against risks arising from operational activities, professional services, and workplace environments, thereby ensuring business continuity, stakeholder protection, and regulatory compliance.

Scope

This policy applies to all ATTICS International operations, including:

  • Auditing and certification services
  • Training and educational programs
  • Examination and assessment activities
  • Testing, laboratory, inspection, and calibration services
  • Consultancy and advisory services
  • Office, training, laboratory, and client-site activities


It applies to all employees, contractors, approved centres, and representatives acting on behalf of ATTICS International.

Policy Statement

ATTICS International shall:

  • Maintain adequate insurance coverage appropriate to the nature and scale of its operations
  • Review insurance coverage periodically to ensure continued adequacy
  • Ensure compliance with legal and contractual insurance requirements
  • Provide evidence of insurance to clients, partners, or regulatory bodies upon request

Types of Insurance Coverage

Public Liability Insurance

Covers claims arising from injury to third parties or damage to property caused by ATTICS International’s activities, services, or premises.
Typical coverage includes:

  • Accidents at training or examination centres
  • Incidents during inspection or audit visits
  • Visitor injuries at office or laboratory facilities

Employers’ Liability Insurance

Covers legal liability for injury, illness, or death of employees arising from workplace activities.
Includes:

  • Office, laboratory, and site-based work
  • Travel and field inspection activities
  • Occupational health and safety risks

Professional Indemnity Insurance

Covers claims arising from professional errors, omissions, or negligence in services provided by ATTICS International.
Includes:

  • Audit and certification decisions
  • Training and examination services
  • Testing, inspection, and calibration reports
  • Consultancy or advisory services

Cyber Liability Insurance

ATTICS International maintains cyber liability insurance covering data breaches, ransomware attacks, business interruption due to cyber incidents, and regulatory fines related to data protection failures, with coverage limits appropriate to the volume of personal and confidential data processed across international operations.

Insurance Management

ATTICS International shall:

  • Maintain insurance policies with reputable and recognized insurers
  • Define coverage limits appropriate to risk exposure
  • Keep insurance certificates and policy documents on record
  • Renew policies before expiration
  • Review coverage annually or when new services are introduced

Insurance Coverage Validation Protocol

Insurance coverage adequacy is validated annually through risk assessment correlation, with coverage limits benchmarked against industry standards for certification bodies and
educational providers, and documented justification maintained for any coverage below
recommended thresholds for similar international organizations.

Responsibilities

Top Management

  • Approve insurance coverage and limits
  • Ensure financial provision for insurance maintenance

Administration / Finance Department

  • Manage insurance procurement and renewals
  • Maintain insurance documentation
  • Coordinate claims processes

All Personnel

  • Report incidents or potential claims promptly
  • Cooperate with insurance investigations

Claims and Incident Reporting

Any incident that may lead to an insurance claim must be:

  • Reported immediately to management
  • Documented with relevant evidence
  • Notified to insurers within required timeframes

Incident Reporting Timeframes

Potential insurance claims must be reported to the designated insurance coordinator within 24 hours of discovery, with preliminary incident reports submitted to insurers within 72 hours as per policy requirements, and full documentation provided within 10 business days to facilitate timely claim processing.

Evidence of Insurance

Evidence of current insurance coverage shall be:

  • Available for inspection by clients, partners, accreditation bodies, or regulators
  • Provided upon contractual request

Digital Certificate Management

Digital insurance certificates are maintained in a secure document management system with automated expiry alerts 90 days before renewal, accessible to authorized personnel through
role-based permissions, and verifiable by external parties through secure links without
compromising sensitive policy details.

International Standards and Risk Management Integration

This policy integrates with ATTICS International’s risk management framework aligned with ISO 9001:2015 clause 6.1 (Actions to address risks and opportunities), ISO 31000 risk management principles, and contractual requirements across all service jurisdictions, ensuring insurance coverage represents a proportional response to identified operational and professional risks.
