ATTICS International Staff Induction and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Policy

These policies are developed exclusively for ATTICS International. Any copying, sharing, or reuse without written consent is not permitted.

Purpose

ATTICS International recognizes that the competence, professionalism, and continuous development of its personnel are essential to delivering credible, high-quality, and internationally recognized services.

The purpose of this policy is to define the process for:

  • Staff induction and onboarding
  • Role-specific orientation and training
  • Ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Ensuring all personnel remain competent, informed, and aligned with ATTICS International’s quality and governance systems.

Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Permanent and contract employees
  • Consultants and external experts
  • Auditors, trainers, assessors, invigilators
  • Inspectors and laboratory personnel
  • Administrative and support staff
  • Approved centre staff delivering ATTICS services

Policy Statement

ATTICS International shall:

  • Provide structured induction for all new personnel
  • Ensure staff understand company policies, procedures, and ISO requirements
  • Identify role-specific competence requirements
  • Provide CPD opportunities to maintain and enhance competence
  • Monitor and record staff training and development
  • Ensure personnel remain technically and professionally up to date

Staff Induction Procedure

All new personnel shall complete an induction program before undertaking independent duties.

Induction includes:

  • Introduction to ATTICS International mission, values, and services
  • Overview of ISO-certified management systems
  • Review of key policies and procedures
  • Code of conduct and ethics
  • Confidentiality and data protection
  • Conflict of interest declaration
  • Health & Safety procedures
  • Role-specific responsibilities
  • Introduction to reporting lines and support systems

Induction completion is documented and retained in staff records.

Role-Specific Training

Before assignment to duties, personnel shall receive:

  • Technical or professional training relevant to their role
  • Assessment, audit, or inspection procedure training (where applicable)
  • System access and IT platform training
  • Quality management and documentation training

Only competent and approved personnel are authorized to perform designated duties.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

ATTICS International requires all professional and technical personnel to engage in ongoing CPD to maintain competence.

CPD activities may include:

  • Professional training courses
  • Workshops and seminars
  • Technical updates and standard revisions
  • Internal quality training
  • Peer learning and mentoring
  • External conferences or certifications

CPD Planning and Monitoring

  • CPD needs are identified through performance reviews and IQA findings
  • Annual CPD plans are developed for relevant staff
  • CPD participation is recorded in individual CPD logs
  • Competence is periodically reviewed

Competence Evaluation

Staff competence is evaluated through:

  • Observation of performance
  • Internal audits and IQA reviews
  • Feedback from learners and clients
  • Assessment of technical outputs
  • Certification or accreditation requirements

Where gaps are identified, additional training is provided.

  • Monitor staff performance and development

All Personnel

  • Participate in induction and CPD activities
  • Maintain professional competence

Records

Induction checklists, training records, and CPD logs are:

  • Stored securely
  • Retained under the Document Retention Policy
  • Available for audit and accreditation review
