ATTICS International Tutor Feedback and Assessment Practice Observation Policy

Purpose

ATTICS International is committed to maintaining high standards of teaching, training delivery, and assessment practices to ensure consistent learner experience and credible qualification outcomes.

The purpose of this policy is to define processes for:

  • Tutor performance feedback
  • Observation of teaching and assessment practices
  • Continuous improvement of training and assessment delivery

Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Tutors, trainers, and facilitators
  • Assessors and invigilators
  • Online and classroom delivery
  • Approved training and examination centres
  • Internal and external delivery partners

Policy Statement

ATTICS International shall:

  • Monitor tutor and assessor performance regularly
  • Provide constructive feedback and suppor
  • Ensure fair, consistent, and valid assessment practices
  • Identify training and development needs
  • Promote professional growth and quality improvement

Tutor Feedback Process

Feedback on tutors is collected through:

  • Learner feedback surveys
  • Peer review
  • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) reviews
  • Observation reports
  • Course performance data

Feedback is recorded, reviewed, and used for improvement planning.

Observation of Teaching Practice

Observation Objectives

  • Ensure adherence to approved curricula
  • Verify effective learner engagement
  • Confirm appropriate teaching methods
  • Ensure professional conduct

Observation Procedure

  • Observation scheduled or conducted randomly
  • Observer uses approved observation checklist
  • Tutor is informed of observation outcomes
  • Constructive feedback provided
  • Development actions agreed if required

Observation of Assessment Practice

Objectives

  • Ensure assessments are fair, valid, and reliable
  • Confirm compliance with examination procedures
  • Verify impartiality and integrity
  • Ensure consistent marking standards

Procedure

  • IQA or Quality Manager observes assessments
  • Evidence recorded in observation report
  • Findings discussed with assessor
  • Corrective or improvement actions implemented where necessary

Frequency of Observations

  • New tutors and assessors: Observed during initial delivery
  • Experienced staff: Observed at least once annually
  • Approved centres: Observed during centre monitoring visits

Development and Support

Where improvement needs are identified:

  • Additional training provided
  • Coaching or mentoring arranged
  • Follow-up observations conducted

Records

The following records are maintained:

  • Tutor feedback reports
  • Observation checklists
  • Improvement action plans
  • Follow-up review reports

All records are stored securely under the Document Retention Policy.
